Apple Inc. shares hit two-year low: Will they rebound?

Apple Inc. shares hit two-year low: Will they rebound?Apple Inc. shares (APPL) have now hit a two-year low; they are now at their lowest since December 2006. Apple shares fell to $4.13 or 5 percent, Apple finished trading on Tuesday at $78.20. The question is will Apple Inc. shares manage to rebound, or is this a sign of things to come?

Gene Munster who is a Piper Jaffray analyst said that Apple's shipments of iPods and Mac computers rebounded in December, which did help increase sales for the quarter. When analyzing data from the NPD Group, Munster thinks that Apple sold at least 2.5 million to 2.6 million in this quarter and 19 to 20 million iPods.

The Apple iPod has seen its sales slipping month on month, so Apple need to do some great marketing if they want the iPod to become a top seller again. There are those out there who believe that the news of Steve Jobs leaving in the summer will now start to have an effect on Apple Inc. shares, only time will tell.

Can Windows 7 bring back fans after Vista Failure?

Can Windows 7 bring back fans after Vista Failure?A lot was promised to us before the launch of Windows Vista, but Microsoft got the new operating system very wrong. The OS is not as bad as what it has been made out to be, but the software falls short of what had been promised to us. We are now looking at a new OS on the horizon with Windows 7, but will the newest version of Windows be enough to bring fans back?

Windows Vista suffered with a number of problems, the first was how slow it made my notebook run, and the second was how mystifying it could sometimes be. Vista did have its good features, yes, it has a few and one of them is that Vista has never crashed on me.

I have always been a fan of XP and I have tried Vista and decided to go back to XP. I have since purchased a more powerful notebook, which included Windows Vista, and I do not have any trouble now. Bolton.com have written an article which takes a close look into whether Windows 7 will be able to win back fans after the failure of Microsoft and Windows Vista, read full article by clicking on the source link below.

New Microsoft Windows 7 OS, is it your Vista alternative?

New Microsoft Windows 7 OS, is it your Vista alternative? Most windows users hardly have a kind word to say about Microsoft Corp.'s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Vista operating system, it's also widely reported that many users tried Vista for a while and then switched back to Windows XP. Then you have the millions that never tried Vista and just stuck with XP.

So you could say that Windows Vista was a flop, although we enjoyed it for many months before moving to Mac OS and never looking back. Now its time for Microsoft to try and win back some of its fans with a Vista alternative.

This goal may be achieved with Microsoft's new Windows 7 system, which you can download currently in a "beta" form from Microsoft's site. There are some big changes in Windows 7 and one of the most obvious changes is Windows 7's tolerance for low-powered computers.

Its well known that with each Windows OS upgrade you need a more powerful computer, but with Windows 7 this is not the case. Windows 7 will run just fine on a high spec dual-core computer and also good on an Asus Eee PC. This is directly to combat the popularity of open source operating systems like Linux.

You can read more on Windows 7 via the read link below or if you have tried WIndows 7, is it your Vista alternative?

Sony forecasts first annual loss in 14 years: 2009 will be worse

Sony forecasts first annual loss in 14 years: 2009 will be worseSony Corp., has now forecast their first annual loss in 14 years following a very bad 2008, with 2009 set to be much worse. Sony, the world's second largest maker of consumer electronics is now feeling the pressures of a worldwide recession, as consumer demand keeps falling.

Sony has said in a statement that their net loss will be 150 billion yen ($1.7 billion); this is for the 12 months ending March 31. This deficit is very different from the 74 billion yen loss that Bloomberg had forecast and the 150 billion yen profit that Sony had forecast way back in October 2008.

This poor outlook has now put a lot of pressure on Chief Executive Officer Howard Stringer, he has promised to increase Sony's profit by 5%. He will have to introduce a number of cost cutting measures, as consumer spending will be much lower in 2009.
