AMD Phenom II vs Intel Core i7: Benchmark tests revealed

AMD have not had a very good 2008, as they lost more ground to rival Intel, but AMD hope that with the arrival of their Phenom II, it will help them take the fight back to their rival. The new CPU has been launched to do battle with Intel's Core i7 processor, so how does it perform in an all out fight. AMD are using the 45nm manufacturing technology, as this will increase clock speeds of the Phenom II, as well as reduce power consumption and in turn reduce heat. This new processor from AMD outperforms the Phenom processor by at least 15 percent. So we know that the AMD Phenom II is much better than its predecessor, the bad news is, the Intel Core i7 still beats it in every benchmark test. The cheapest of the Core i7 range is the 2.66GHz 920, which costs about $600. This beats the 3GHz Phenom II 940 Black Edition which sells for $520 by at least 10 percent. See benchmark result
